Miasma: an unpleasant or unhealthy smell or vapour. Curiously, the same word exists in Spanish but instead of a general odor, is focused on a malignant smell that was believed to emanate from sick bodies, corrupt matter and stagnant water, which in my opinion is more specific. Learned from: the book synopsis to Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake.

This is my most hated word even the sound it makes is foul but I suppose itβ€˜s strongly evocative of its meaning in that sense. yummy, tummy, veg, other cutesy self-infantilizing Molly-Baz-core shortened words

Splenetic. I just learned this today (English is not my first language), thanks to this book analysis by Mary Gaitskill about The Sisters K. Splenetic: bad-tempered, spiteful.

Mendacious: not telling the truth. Just saw this in one of the recommendations made here (unfortunately, I lost it), and I didn't know what it meant.
