saddle stitch is a type of printing that requires you to have a page count that’s a multiple of 4 - so you can make a book with as little as 8 pages including the front and back cover. i think giving yourself parameters to work in like knowing how many pages you have will make things less daunting and then you can start mapping out the concept from there and see how many pages this concept requires…
