This is basically a Halloween album -
the songs are haunted, aching, messy, and sometimes silly. It features a children’s choir, crooning, and whispers of a dying love, a beating heart, bones beneath your feet.
I listen every fall and, beyond that, this album is a piece of my musical identity. I didn’t know you could break glass and stomp and let songs fall apart and have that all work on an album because when I first heard this I had mostly been listening to ska and blink 182.

I don’t know much about this album, I found it somewhere and clicked on it cuz the artwork kinda looked like my band’s single artwork.
I usually have too short of an attention span for ambient music, but this drew me in! There are a few songs with random vocal parts that really hit. I guess this is from 2004 so like lost in translation-coded if that makes sense. The song titles also slap and are maybe 75% of why I like this.

There’s a real sense of catharsis in this song. Peter has said it’s about letting go and you can feel that. It is so confident but still feels personal and it’s just a damn tune. Also it’s in 7/4 if you care about that kind of thing

My dad loved horror movies - not many actually Scared him. After seeing this in theaters he told me he had to turn on all the lights when he got home.
I just saw it for the first time and while I loved it I wouldn’t say this is a Scary Movie. It’s more so a story about ghosts that almost feels like a gothic fairytale.
Nicole Kidman is insanely good in it. The way she can lose her grip on reality while still maintaining her humanity is heartbreaking.
SO, highly recommend watching especially on a foggy/stormy night. And make sure to lock that door behind you thx love u so much xoxo4evr
