It's a lack of information, and I find them cathartic, it's a fun surprise when you realise you can continue to have crushes, and also it teaches you about your preferences, and maybe even how they've changed. If lucky, it can also become a great friendship, or a light love for days, months, years...

I love your take on this. Especially saying that you find them cathartic and they teach you about preferences. I don't know why but I also feel like they allow me to get in touch with my inner child (myself when I was 14 especially) because I feel like I can create space for my imagination and I can dream a little. But now I'm more mature and less insecure about myself, so I can create a safe little playground in my mind.

especially having multiple at once, friend or romantic or both-- yes there is potential for it to get a bit messy but usually it's just cute and fun. often good motivation to get to know people that you think are cool. it's exciting to get excited about people !

The great Indian cheese toastie
This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
