Iā€™m sick of feeling powerless so my new coping strategy is to not let a stupid system bully me into quiet despair. Iā€™m learning how to use my stateā€™s General Assemblyā€™s online bill tracker and Iā€™m subscribing to email updates for the agendas and the public hearings of the legislative committees Iā€™m most concerned about. Iā€™m memorizing all my legislatorsā€˜ names and emailing and calling regularly. Also: Check to see if your stateā€™s Legislative Library has Libguides that explain in laymanā€™s terms what bills are passing in your state and other educational/legislative resources you have freely available to you!!!

figuring out the small things i can do that i know will make me feel at least 5% better has been so helpful to build momentum throughout my day. some of mine: groggy -> coffee, go outside and walk around, or a mini nap lethargic/irritable -> taking a shower and deep breaths, opening a window sad -> get sunlight, stand outside for ten minutes, hug my cat anxious/unable to focus -> writing a brain dump of everything thatā€™s on mind or cbt journaling unable to sleep -> reading a book bored -> create/output something (input(watching/listening to/reading something, scrolling on my phone) vs output(making something, writing my thoughts on something i watched, trying something new)) bloated -> ginger tea, activating pressure points, yoga uninspired -> revisiting something formative, figuring out the unexplored territories in my taste and going into them, looking through my collection of art books

Writing shit down helps? Also stopping people when overwhelmed and telling them to give you 1 small piece of info at a time. Also being aware of your rejection sensitivity and being nice to yourself about it and not lashing out Definitely not better or equal to diagnosis and meds but itā€™s a not unhelpful small coping strategy Hope things get better ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Iā€™m up in my bank account every week writing every transaction out in a spreadsheet and Iā€™ve never been better with money in my whole life. Also helped me notice asap when a whole mess of fraudulent transactions slipped in while I was occupied moving and otherwise wouldnā€™t have seen them for a while. Itā€™s absolutely more effective than a Mint budget tracker because you have to confront EVERY purchase and contemplate what actually has value to you.

My partner and I were looking for raunchy old scifi movies vaguely like Barbarella this weekend and stumbled on this one. I hesitate to describe it at all because watching with no concept of what it was about was the best possible experience. Plus now I can now fully appreciate the reference in a notable PI user's pfp and will laugh every time I see it. P.S. Check TW's online potentially, but most of the dark parts also look pretty silly all things considered.
