i've been a comic book collector on and off since i was 16. i think that there's no greater high than finding a genuinely wonderful comic book. i've been on hold since the summer to pursue other hobbies but i will be back. gonna rec marvel bc i'm most consistently satisfied with their output but. just go to a shop. pick up the coolest cover you can find. ask the cashier about it. read good comics. read bad comics. read superhero comics. read non-cape comics. read independent comics. read comics from a big shared universe. read a heart-wrenching indie book you've never heard of before. just read em! photo is assorted pics from my unread pile.

ive only ever met one person irl thats had interest in them and it was an ex:( i didnt have interest for a long time either. then i realized its not just marvel and dc stuff.(love that too) but theres ones about witchcraft, i found one about this widely unknown female superhero who uses natures elements! vampires, a character n series about death, sex, so many. endless topics, endless media. some are 50 cents at your local shop. nobody realizes how great comic media consumption can be anymore

Never was that big of a fan of comics growing up, and I'd say that I have a sprinkling of pretentiousness, so lots of media I consume is serious and artistic. But somehow over the past couple months I've been going to comic book stores, buying the new issues and keeping track of when new issues come out. It's something about the escapism I think, and the strong characters that exist in series like the X-Men. A lot of the older Chris Clairmont X-Men is written really well, there are some parts that have aged terribly, but for the most part it's some great stuff. This has been the first thing I've really enjoyed getting into in a while. Also Wolverine is hot, 5'3" king.
