now i can actually add a rec to my own post! yesterday i went to a film screening at anthology film archives and watched zined! it was an comedic, down to earth documentary about average people making zines to document the music culture around them, state subversive political issues, create personal diaries, etc. and it did feature some shots of kinko’s!

do you wanna join a photography zine?

firstly, thank you so, so much for those who showed interest by interacting with my initial ask! it meant a TON <3 for those that didn’t get to see the context, my dearest friend and i have decided to dip our toes in creating a team of artists for a photography zine, as we’ve always wanted to create a community of like-minded artists where we encourage and inspire each other to create new pieces and challenge each other by exploring different themes and methodologies we may not have looked into otherwise. plus, we just love zines and always wanted to make one ourselves :D we will be publishing our zine online and will be offering opportunities in the future to acquire physical zines for anyone interested in a copy~ as a sneak peek, our first issue’s theme will be “analog distortion v.s. digital distortion” :O we finally got the discord up and running, so if you’re interested in more details on how the zine will operate and for more details on our theme… https://discord.gg/eKVmeCthsP joining the discord doesn’t mean u have to commit right away! pls feel free to change ur mind if u feel that the zine isn’t right for u after all (and to clarify, revenue, if any, made from the zine goes directly to our artists and back into the zine first and foremost! but we are a passion project and community space more than anything) cheers, every1 (:
