📖
Beautiful (and quick) read - two short stories about loss and all it engenders in our lives. Heartwarming, funny, and magical, this book brought me answers to questions I didn’t know I had and closure I didn’t know I needed - I am attaching one of my favorite passages here, it served as a sweet and gentle reminder to appreciate the past, surrender to the present, and that tomorrow is not promised… #ouroboros #style

a super short n sentimental read that also happens to be one of my favorite books of all time. i don’t want to say too much about it (to maintain an element of surprise n whimsy), but it contains two different stories, with both touching upon processing grief and finding joy in the mundane. i love the way yoshimoto writes, with such an appreciation for the details in the world around her. if you end up reading this one, i’d love to know what you think <3 happy reading!

A novella that is primarily about loss and grief but also about hope, comfort, and true love. (I will give a warning that one of the central characters is trans and tho the character is very beloved by the narrator, the book has some slightly dated language/thinking about being trans; edited to add that I recommend anyone who is concerned about this look up spoilers for the story before reading it)
