A man begins a drive to nowhere, alternating left and right turns, until he ends up at a dead end, facing the forest. Instead of returning home, he ventures into the forest, and encounters an aura of blinding light. It's a brief, sneaky book, it began quietly and then had an enormous impact on me. For those who haven't read it, please do. The storytelling is an easy 10/10. Makes you want to leave home and start hugging trees (do not try this at night). Bottom line is, everything happens for a reason and you are that reason.

the endings of great novels stay with you. a momentous rush that last dot, words and eyes speeding towards it almost with reluctance, until yes that world is done but something ripples out, a faint radiance or shadow, like the dark spot that lingers in your eye long after staring at the sun.

Tim Burton’s finest, this might be the best Batman film… ever? Fantastic cast. Michelle Pfeiffer’s bad bitch Catwoman steals the show. It’s not as self-serious and brooding as the Nolan films, more of an iconic 90s blockbuster that says, come along, let’s have some fun. It’s cool, quirky, and goth, with Christmas vibes woven in. I watched it again last night, so very enjoyable.

We get big daddy wolf spiders in Vancouver. I don't really enjoy them in my living space, but I know they do a lot of good with pests, so I kindly capture them and place them in the garden. 🪴
