My grandma’s word for word response when I asked her if she had any advice for living a long life. She lived to be 99 years old. Rest in Paradise Donna.

My grandpa once told me: "Live a worthy life. What makes a life worthy is something only you can define for yourself. So, live a life that feels meaningful to you, as long as it does not prevent others from living theirs. Don't let others define what a worthy life means for you. If for you, a worthy life means building a large family, build it; if it means earning a billion dollars, pursue that goal with all your might; if it means making as many memories as you can, go ahead; if it means being religious and praising God, do so. Live your worthy life and ignore anyone who tells you otherwise." I couldn't find this quote anywhere so I think it was his own wisdom. Rest in Peace grandpa❤️

There were two Margarets in our family; she was 5’1” hence the nickname. Born in County Clare 🇮🇪 - I doubt she even knew her real mom - and raised in poverty in LA by a relative once she had landed in the U.S. She made amazing oatmeal and tuna sandwiches when I was sad; she lived close enough to my parents that sometimes I would walk home to her house instead of my parents’ on the way home from school. I went through confirmation only because of her (didn’t believe much in Catholicism otherwise and still don’t). I lived with her for awhile one summer during college. She was an amazing roommate. I learned so much about life and our family. She was my favorite human, our family matriarch / badass and I miss her everyday. Thanks Gran ❤️

I am obsessed with this Art Deco Extraordinaire, a Polish-born painter whose glamorous figurative compositions came to life in 1920s-30s Paris. Influenced by Cubism and Neoclassicism, her works—especially her portraits of women—blend beauty, strength, modernity, and a timeless cosmopolitan flair. After leaving Paris, she continued her career in New York, Hollywood, and Mexico. Now on view is her first American retrospective at the de Young Museum in San Francisco until February 9th.

I've been doing a lot of live drawings at shows, this one is of Juvenile and Mannie Fresh when they played at Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Back That Azz Up." They had a live band with them and the energy was so hype! His son messaged me "My dad love the painting" and got my email so I'm hoping this ends up in his house one day :) Musicians are my main muses. I sell the drawings as fine art prints and because they are ink on paper, the replicas look pretty identical to the OGs. Live drawing is a practice I've devoted myself to out of not having a studio and living out of a storage unit and it's made me brave and remember that MFA degree and Art World aside, art is about curiosity, creativity, openess, innovation, and being present to the beauty in front of you. It is the conscious action to make marks, to trust the ancient technology embeded in our bodies, to allow a picture to reveal itself, and connect to some kind of truth on the daily.
