This sounds dumb but I did not do this for a really long time. I spent my teenage years wearing jean jackets in January and have always been miserable when it rains. I was of the mindset that winter clothes don't work(????). Last year I finally got rain gear and proper winter clothes and I can't believe neither of those weather situations suck that much.
