i usually drag my feet but it always ends up being better than i think it will be and sometimes i get rewarded with a sweet treat or deep personal lore
every time I have a long walk awaiting me, i Tippity tap in my moms phone number and talk to her about nothing for the duration of my walk. Today I rang up my mother and strutted my stuff for 2 hours.
We breached topics such as: what is the best way to season a pestle and mortar? does survivor comes out on tuesdays or wednesdays? David Shrigley? did She win bananagrams when we played it a couple of weeks ago or did she in fact totally cheat and none of her words were real words in any language?
All in all. I recommend doing this, your mother will love it and you will be the favorite child. and It’s fun to see where your brain might take u
when you’re catching up or asking advice or fighting or putting up boundaries, whatever your relationship, play your parent a song you’ve been listening to a lot. even if they don’t get it, it’s a revelatory experience if you let it be
