Living across from a park

Something is always happening. I see children playing together, couples drinking beers and having picnics, fireworks going off (random Monday night not a holiday). I’m in bed right now, my window is open next to me and I can hear multiple people attempting to sing Opera.

things that make me feel alive

sleeping outside, being on a hike all alone and just hearing the wind in the trees and waterfalls and birds. looking at the moon. watching the clouds go by. seeing my own breath when it's cold outside. letting rain hit my face. buying a slice of pie and coffee at a little diner. making a giant pot of soup.

Hosting

I threw a dinner party last night and it was so much fun! It’s winter and it’s been pretty bleak, so I thought it be nice to have friends over. This was my first time hosting something completely solo and I thought it would be very stressful but it was smooth sailing and the night was merry and cute! For me this past year has really been about platonically putting myself out there and forging local friendships and last night felt like a cumulation of that effort :-) It wasn’t a super fancy meal, but still, very nice. It’s great to be invited but its also like sometimes you gotta make the magic happen

Decaf coffee at night

feels fancy and sophisticated to order after dinner out; and a cozy little treat to make a home sometimes-- The latter experience reminds me of eating a big Italian dinner at my grandpa and step grandma’s apt in New York
