CALLING ALL NAIL BITERS AND PEOPLE WHO PICK AT THEIR NAILS!!!! I have found a solution that works for me, so I'm sharing it in case it can help anyone else! I was a CRAZY nail biter. Bit my nails until I was like 15. I ended up stopping and picking at my nails instead, then I went back to biting them, then I stopped. I tried Gel nail polish and it ruined my nails. Made them super thin and they broke SO easily. Tried Aacrylics and they worked! The issue was that when my nails would break, I'd bite/pick at them again then I would need Acrylics again and it was not fun. Also apparently the formula is SUUUPER bad for you, so I eventually ran into the issue of "my nails are all short but I don't want those chemicals on me." Went to a new nail tech after I moved and she introduced me to this thing called SNS. My favorite thing on the planet. Sending so much love to the creator. SNS is a powder that you dip your nails in and it helps them grow and get strong. First they had to put that plastic extra length on my nails because they were so short, but once my nails grew we only put SNS on my natural nails because they were so long! They use a gel top coat but it's on top of the powder, so none of that touches or harms your natural nail. Some nail techs use UV lights to finish the gel, but some just use a fan. SNS has made my nails so long and strong and I am always in awe of how they look. They're strong like acrylics so I can bite and pick at them and nothing happens. They're so cute and they help relieve the stress of worrying about my nails since I know no matter what I do, they will stay looking amazing!

I get these nail powder dip kits online and I swear they have saved my fingers and they make my nails pretty. I have whatever anxious condition it is where I pick my cuticles until they bleed, I can’t stop. I’ve been doing it since I was a child. I don’t know why I do it and I wish I didn’t. And I hate going to nail salons because I’m usually so ashamed of my grotesque picked at fingers. ENTER these dip kits. They’re cheap and fairly easy to use (after a couple of YouTube video tutorials) and they last for about two weeks. They make my nails look like I had them done professionally and the dip and top coat make my nails too thick and round to pick at my skin, like I can’t get any leverage to pick while having the dip on my nails. You should see my hands right now, they look completely normal, I can point at things without shame and squeeze lemons without feeling a massive amount of pain! This kit has changed my life, all for about $40 which covers probably 20 manicures.

i had acrylic tips for years and now i do gel extensions. i go every 2-4 weeks. it's definitely damaging but i personally don't care because the second i remove them i start chewing and picking at my cuticles like crazy and my hands look horrific. i know it's not for everyone, it's costly and annoying, and yes my natural nails are thinner than paper at this point, but (for me) it is worth it to have decent looking hands and not be biting all the time. also i did try press ons for many months and they just dont compare!!

Everyone randomly loves to compliment my press on nails. stops me from biting my nails and i dont have to deal with passive aggressive nail techs scolding me. When they fall off (or i peel them) i just throw on some new ones, nbd. im not pretending they look as good as acrylics but for $8 i do not care

I love seeing the live site activity because it's like omg we're such different people all around the world who happen to be here at the same time. Like hi hello welcome to the app I can't wait to hear what you have to say. We're all just little ants and I think that's so cute. This is such a stupid thought but oh well maybe someone else feels this way.

I think we need to bring Box Tops back. One of my favorite parts of elementary school were the Box Tops competitions for a pizza party and I feel sad for the children who didn't get to experience that. Maybe there's an equivalent I don't know about (???) but I think Box Tops competitions are something every kid should get to experience.
