Posting a list of the things one bought in 2024 is the symptom of complete moral decadence and utterly depressing. My list of things I bought in 2024: Too many, unfortunately.

I have arbitrary amounts in my head for how much I think things should cost which become increasingly delusional as inflation continues to skyrocket. These dollar amounts are so low that you would think that I’m somebody’s grandfather from the Great Depression, but I do my best to hold the line. I like to buy items that are open-box returns, refurbished, or used, and sort low to high is my lifeline. I want to get a good value for the price that I pay and I’m always obsessed with finding a deal. That said, I indulge far too much in costly food, drink, and other earthly pleasures—it’s about finding balance in that tension between restraint and surrender.

Last year I bought something new at the markets each time I visited. This year’s fun resolution is yet to come to me, but I trust it will. There’s no rules to your yearly resolutions, and making them fun and playful helps them to stick. It’s all about being present. What’s yours this year?

Understanding that mostly we are ignorant about many things leads to a state of mental bliss.

They are kind of ridiculous. The epitome of a small dog. If you were to tell a child to draw a dog the drawing would most likely look like a tiny dachshund. They look better in your arm than most handbags. Nobody is afraid of them. You can’t really take them serious - which is an ideal to recommended to any Homo Sapiens. Yet they have a lot of character and are smarter than the turd who wants to become president again. And they get quiet old without going to Equinox or using nutrition supplement or detox and all that shit.
