When people travel there’s become this idea where youre supposed to “live like a local,” see the spots where the townies hang out, not do anything too touristy. And yes, that is how you can find some amazing spots and real treasures you wouldn’t have seen others. But ALSO you expect me to come to New Orleans and not wear a bunch of beads, paint my face in glitter, and eat one million Sno Balls?!

this is something i should do much more of. every time i visit another city i scope out the best spots, hit all the sights, and pack in my days with fresh experiences.
once u live somewhere for a while u just kinda stop being excited and fall into a routine. there are still so many things i haven’t seen in nyc, and probably will never see, because 90% of my time is spent in my own neighborhood.

3 weeks of living near LA and I finally went to do the Hollywood Blvd. tourist thing. Looking for parking recommendations I saw a bunch of people saying to just skip the spot because it’s kinda gross and just a tourist trap. They were right of course, but I still had a good time being a tourist😒. Yes, it’s not interesting because you live here, but for someone visiting/just moving here it’s a pretty unique experience. Let people be tourists and enjoy their life
