I hated this book when I first read it. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. And yet, more than five years later, I still find myself thinking about it. No other book has illustrated my particular brand of depression better. Sometimes you just want to exit for a bit.

i connected so much to this book, as an artist and recent college grad but most importantly as someone who stuggles with mental illness and utilizes escapism. my fav thing about this book is that the narrator remains unnamed which really allowed me to embed myself into this book and i think thats one of the biggest reasons this book was so impactful to me. since moving back home, i rediscovered my local library and omg luv it so much
