there is a big, back-lit oval opening in the ceiling that makes you feel like you’re ascending. the library itself is round! they got some cozy chairs and long tables to spread out at. the overhead lighting is cozy like a warm lamp.
my gf took us here when we were both having a bad day. it feels similar to some of turell’s works. designed by frank lloyd wright (for the heads). might be my favorite wright space i’ve found myself inside of.
The old study halls of Ervin Szabo library are hidden away on the fourth floor of what first seems like a fairly standard public library. The rooms are staggeringly beautiful and one of the best places I’ve come across for writing / reading / sitting in the quiet.

i went into jo malone to inquire about this perfume i have been a bit obsessed with (ginger cookie). a girl my age working informed me that it was a limited edition run and they no longer carried it. i was devastated but nevertheless, ended up in conversation with her about how much i liked her shoes and her, my outfit.
“hold on a second,” she went into the back and made me a sample of a leftover stock bottle. i use my little bottle sparingly and think of the kindness often 🫚
and by that i mean the folks who sit through a whole lecture not taking a note. not a single one. not even because theyre distracted by their phones but literally just because theyre tapped in. im not quite there yet but maybe there is something to it
