Especially right at the end or the beginning of an year. It brings foward that feeling of starting fresh, and the joy of rethinking your relationship with your clothes.
The classic system always works best as well.
Section by section take everything out, divide by what will be kept, donated, or recycled - there should be a few collecting points where you live. I also started two other piles, the ones that just need repair and a few I'll try trading or giving to a friend.
This time I helped my mom with hers and did a full closet shopping with her clothes. π

It feels so good to get rid of old clothes and donate them and have a totally organized closet. There was so much stuff in my closet that I wasnβt wearing anymore. normalize just having quality pieces that you love and not all those extras

There is something so soul cleansing about giving things away - decluttering and making your closet/space make sense for you. also, I used to always take old clothes to buy-back stores like Clothes Mentor hoping to make quick cash, to usually not make anything more than $4 lol, and it feels so much better just taking your stuff to goodwill; way more rewarding knowing that your once-loved items are accessible to people who may be in need or donβt have a lot of money to spend on clothes and things.

One of the things I like the most about Pi.fyi and the current scale of users is that it's still noticeable when a rec was inspired by another.
Sometimes the rec directly mentions the other, but other times you can kinda assume that reading an especific thing here triggered a memory or an ideia.
It's very cute and interesting to notice the small influences interacting with other humans online can have.
