my life has gotten so much better ever since my cat decided that she needs to cuddle with me all morning. i drink my coffee while she demands attention. i love her so much

Waking up to my little cat cuddling up next to or on top of me is one of the best feelings in the world. It reminds me that beautiful and serene moments are always around us, we just need to be a bit more still, so that they can nest besides (or on top of) us.
houses are supposed to be a place of comfort, but gothic stories subvert this. the feeling of the uncanny occurs when the familiar becomes unfamiliar- for example, scary and unsettling things going on in the home, which should be a place of refuge. the haunting of hill house is a great gothic haunted house example !
this is boo bear <3 i’ve had her since i was 10 or 11, and now she lives with me in my first apartment. it’s so special to have a cat that i grew up with. she feels like my sister, daughter, and best friend all at once
