Kneecap was by far my favourite. Just an absolutely blistering first feature that is extremely fun starring the Irish language hip-hop group of the same name. Knew nothing about them going in, but it was electric watching it in the cinema even without much of an audience. The Irish language is so cool. In terms of "best"? I absolutely adore The Substance.

This is probably one of my top films ever. Some of the most fun and creative practical effects, great story, stellar performances, and overall absolutely infectious.

I canโ€™t pick between the two but I love seeing movies in theater that are overwhelming and over the top, for the fact that the viewing experience is obviously more intense and to see the audience reactions. I WISH I saw Terrifier 3 in theaters but I did not because I kind of did not want to see that movie alone with the kind of people who would want to watch itโ€ฆ lol

Iโ€™m sure this movie has been recommended by many on this app over the course of October but I need to add my name to the list of recommenders. I linked my review (it does have some spoilers towards the end) but I needed to get some thoughts out. Even after finishing the movie over an hour ago Iโ€™m still thinking about it and the visuals. A movie made in the language of film, in the lineage of films, for people who care and respect about cinema as a unique artistic and storytelling medium. If you need a final push to see this movie, please let this be that final push.

As the title suggests, Kanye was always one of my problematic faves but I think he's kinda became annoyingly problematic and comically evil to the point that he's lost me. I still listen to his old stuff though. I often don't realise how much I listen to it still until I see my last.fm stats. It's kind of undeniable that he's been one of the most influential people in hip-hop and wider pop culture for decades now, so it hurts more that he's gone so far down the deep end. One of these days I'll make my idea for a Kanye Broadway musical a reality. Trust me!

In my final year of high school, I signed up for the senior musical on a whim. Like a bunch of other queers, I enjoyed musical theatre. I wasn't a "theatre kid", but I had listened to a couple soundtracks here and there. I thought I'd at least have fun, and I knew I was friends with some people doing it. Little did I know the Filipino singing gene never loses, and neither does the Filipino acting gene. Somehow I managed to get a lead role (I was Donkey in Shrek the Musical) with loads of lines and a few solo songs. It was the greatest experience I ever had in high school and it happened in my last year. I met new people, discovered new talents and passions, and built some of my strongest friendships ever thanks to the time I spent in the musical. If I never decided to do the show because I thought it would be fun, I don't think I'd be nearly as happy with myself as I am now.
