beautiful, gorgeous country really. went to kubrick café and bookshop, also met some cute cats at a cat café in tsim sha sui. + disneyland! i miss 💙

I have been fortunate to have lived in some great cities in Asia: Seoul, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
Only in Seoul and Hong Kong is it possible to take the subway and then within a minutes escape the concrete jungle and hike into real jungle/forest.
Love it.

And yet, almost not at all
Beijing is cleaner and sleeker but still full of charming little traditional hutong neighborhoods
Shanghai remains the most bling city in the world outside of Vegas
Hong Kong is less British outpost than global trading center but its harbor is nonetheless a world class hang.
I promise not to wait this long again.
I wish more Americans would visit and judge for themselves vs. just take the spoon-fed nonsense our media serves up. ❤️

just had an epiphany about how everyone seeks something different from art, how we all perceive it based on who we are as individuals … for the longest time in art/film school i’ve been scared to pursue the art i want out of fear that it will turn out very bad.
but i hope we make art anyway despite that fear, as long as it sustains ourselves and the people who matter. i hope we all get to freely make “bad” art 🫂
