If you’re tired of Spotify recs I recently returned to my ol’ faithful Pandora! 🪼💿 You actually get good variety and the vibe-matching is well-done :)
My current station mixes Sam Phillips, yeule, Momma, Cocteau Twins, and the Breeders. Bangin’
I know it's algo-based, but I find it truly shines when you find an under-the-radar song or artist you love and create a radio station. There's a random DJ I love and the songs that Pandora plays when I make his radio is something I could never have done on my own and I found so many sub genres and music from that alone! I find their algorithm is much better for music discovery than Spotify (which now plays a lot of what you already like vs finding new things).
Pandora added ways to tune radio stations years ago and solidified its crown as the best recommendation engine of the streamers, imo. Discovery aces the assignment. It chucks your worn out tracks, extracts their spirit, and serves up songs you've never heard but needed to hear.
One of my most listened to at work stations. Pandora added ways to tune stations years ago. Set one to "Discovery" mode and you'll be listening to songs you never heard of in a heartbeat. Far superior to playlists imo
