The joy of making a silly playlist. Try finding common themes on songs from diverse genres. This year I made playlists with songs named after fruits, songs about the city where i'm from, songs that cite the month of september, songs about feeling like a dog, songs named like: "thing" on/in "other thing" it's very joyful trying to find patterns in songs you like and it makes for very distinctive sounding playlists 💃🕺

Making seasonal playlists

I make playlists every month or every season, depending on my mood. It’s nice to go back and listen to stuff I was into my freshmen year of college, or during the pandemic. I add songs to the playlist that my friends send me or I hear in movies or tv shows, along with songs I just love and want to be hearing. Like a little time capsule

Make playlists for everything

when I’m bored at work, one of the new hobbies I’ve picked up again is playlist curation. I remembered just how fun it is to start making a playlist for every type of mood possible. Even the ones that i feel like only i can feel useful. It is alwaysss the right move. I have a playlist for roadtrips, one that I would play if I was hiding from a serial killer in a horror film, one for when I want to feel like I’m a loading screen of a video game, ones for all kinds of get togethers (nostalgic crowdpleasers, dancing until you puke, etc.), ones for when I’m needing to pretend the sun is shining outside… you get it! Best part is, you still look like you are busy on the computer..hehe.

Being a fan

As Perfectly Imperfect subscribers know, being into shit is cool. This was an early rec I made on the PI.FYI app, inspired by Facebook’s “like” feature formerly being called “become a fan” because I find the verbiage so sweet and so supportive. It’ll always be way cooler to be an embarrassing superfan than to have 0 interests.
