if you’re insecure about something physical that strangers could see, give them something else to stare at that you like instead. bad breakout? wear some over-the-top makeup, no one is looking at your acne anymore. wear a bold outfit. dye your hair a bright color. people are going to look anyways, have them look at something you love instead of something you don’t

i recommend incorporating something a little bit unflattering into your look whether it be the fit/cut of a garment or an ugly shoe or something similar, for me its recently become bleaching my eyebrows, i do not have a good face for this at all (and i paint them in to look more "natural" for work) but i really like the intensity of the look. i feel like wearing something a little unflattering communicates like aesthetic agency or something and its subtly subversive... i hope that makes sense

i've completely lost interest in what I look like. i used to be so preoccupied by what I wore and how my face looked as a teenager that it was exhausting. i was so concerned about getting my eyeliner perfect every time. making sure my hair was the best honey blonde but that i still had tool and choking victim patches on my backpack. turned 24 and kind of going feral mode #idgaf. i don't care about looking beautiful or cool. it's about being beautiful or cool on the inside

how gentle of us to make a wish on a star or an eyelash or a dandelion - what a beautiful way to dream so big and so casually. it’s free, you’re free!

I loved being 19, it felt like the age I was supposed to be. I miss 19, I can’t wait to see what other years will feel like being 19 when I get older. Aging used to scare me a lot more, now I’ve realized the world is kinder to me as I’ve grown up, and I’ve grown kinder to myself too. I hope to smile enough that one day it’ll never leave my face again.
