culver’s is so special. i had a transcendent strawberry shake and burger there yesterday. $4.99 for a burger! unheard of! its the only food service place my brother worked at where he would still eat. affordable, good quality, and i love that its still a hospitable place to sit and eat. midwest perfection

Holy shit it’s one of the few big places I somehow didn’t go when I lived here for years, but I’m here now and it fully warrants the hype. Meat so tasty it doesn’t need ketchup and I can’t remember whether I’ve ever experienced that before.

rarely get the burgers actually, it’s the patty melt what does it for me 🤤 their shakes are insane, the banana pudding and dr pepper flavors especially also gotta love their retro design, that orange really pops out when you see their signs on the highway

Ricks burgers in silver lake

Great spot. Just down the street from Zebulon. I’ve never been to Zebulon. But anyway— their bog standard cheeseburger goes crazy. Imagine the Big Mac, or at least the promise of the Big Mac. I know this will cause some controversy (McDicks just “upgraded” their Big Mac along with all their other burgers [I think the new BM is a sidegrade at best, a downgrade least charitably {the new quarter pounder + cheese & double cheeseburger is a marked improvement}]) seeing as the Big Mac was originally a rip off of Bob’s Big Boy’s eponymous “Big Boy”— but I sincerely believe that Rick’s cheeseburger is the platonic ideal of what the Big Mac set out to imitate. Perfect sauce:patty:bun:lettuce&tomato ratio. And what a strawberry milkshake! Maybe the best strawberry milkshake in town. I’m an idiot, and I’m not very experienced so if anyone can think is a better strawberry milkshake please let me know. But for the life of me, I can’t think of a better strawberry milkshake.
