You do not need more advice. Or practice. Or thinking about it. Stop talking about it. Actually do it. Do it in baby steps or in giant leaps…but just go do it. I wish I traveled/worked out/spoke more languages/read more/made more art/knew how to do XYZ type conversations do not get you closer to doing it. Book that class, pick up that paintbrush, save that money for your flight, download those language apps and use them, buy that book. shut up and do it! With love

But not necessarily in a Nike way, just do it in an introspective way

i’m such an advocate for regular ass people doing art. or anything new that “requires skill” really we are so scared of doing things because we’re not any good at them. so what. karaoke with the confidence of a popstar even if your voice cracks and you don’t know breath support. paint even if it looks like a toddler made it. play the same three guitar chords and paint your furniture with a kitchen sponge and try to bake macarons. it’s so sad that people who aren’t, like, professionally skilled, get laughed at for their art. or like i said, trying any skill that isn’t honed yet there’s something so important and human in the arts, its such an amazing outlet but people refuse to tap into it because they “can’t draw a stick figure” or “write too cliche” or “have two left feet”. DO IT POORLY!!!!! DO IT SCARED!!!!! DO THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO DEEP DOWN IN YOUR SOUL EVEN IF YOU THINK YOU’RE BAD AND FEEL EMBARASSED!!!!! let yourself have fun with things!!!!!!!! it shouldn’t be a competition all the time. you probably are not ariana grande, but you’re allowed to have fun singing and stuff too. if you have a voice in your head that laughs at you when you’re not immediately good at something, learn to gently correct it. tell it you’re learning and you’ll never be any good at something if you don’t have the courage to just….start. somewhere, anywhere

Don’t overthink and just start, who cares if you’re cringe or unsuccessful, just be consistent and follow your heart.

Before I eat I’ve started to pray before meals. I pray for everyone involved in the cultivation and creation of my food. From the farmers, to the grocery clerk, to my roommate who sits with me while I cook. Helps me remind myself that even something as small as my meal is a part of a bigger community. Maybe it does nothing, maybe attunes myself to others around me (especially to migrant farm workers + their struggles), maybe it’s just sending good vibes.

Looking for cheap simple vegan meals? Countries with a high Orthodox Christian populous fast from meat, dairy, and animal products for more than half the year. Typically you can find a treasure trove of meal ideas from these countries googling the term fasting foods plus the countries name I.E. Russian fasting foods Greek fasting foods Belarusian fasting foods Ethiopian fasting foods Simple ingredients, vegan, and different. Part of the ideology is that fasting food should not be overly complex so you will not be hunting down ingredients
