this is my dream. symphonies, stage plays, ballet remind me of how grand art & life are supposed to be. people never heard music in their life, no wonder they all became religious zealots the moment they stepped into a cathedral

I first learned about this piece in a design history class in college but it’s something I return to from time to time. Just came up again because a recent runway show took inspiration from the costumes (Idr who let me know if you do??) Stunning visuals, hard to believe it’s over 100 years old.

Projection on Object-screen

Loved this little installation at the open studios at the Montmartre site of the Cité des arts this evening. Makes my mind wander back to doing intimate projections on pieces of fabric and making the projection integrate with the form. The black shape here is used to its fullest illusionary benefit. I wonder how this can be adapted to the show I am ideating with bollywood film and dance...
