I will never forget the first time I watched this movie not knowing what to expect and coming out in the end completely charmed by this film centring a woman in a state of arrested development who practices self harm trying to seduce her sadomasochist boss into a loving relationship. Maggie Gyllenhaal is so perfect in this role I cant imagine anyone else playing her, and James Spader is also perfect casting because he definitely has the vibes of a little freak who’s still hot for some reason. The scene in the garden makes me squeal. Also, the Japanese poster is awesome.

just got added to hulu!! great but bleak film about a small village descending into chaos after the local bakery hires foreign workers features the only protagonist that could win against leonardo dicaprio’s character from killers of the flower moon in an ‘evil dumb guy who is horny’ contest. seriously these guys are cut from the same cloth
