I watched a free screening of Mickey 17 and wow it was amazing, Bong Joon-Ho has slayed again. It was funny, it was dramatic, the casting was perfect. I will be thinking of this movie for a while and I will def watch it again.

Saw in theaters, great movie! of course, Bong Joon-ho is a great director and Parasite being one of my favourite movies of all time, it wasn't anywhere near his best to me. it was actually a little bit over the top and chaotic, and I think it would be annoying to some because it does get kind of quippy. But I still think it had a lot of interesting commentary on imperialism and colonization, paired with some classic economic and class issue viewpoints (every movie of his I've seen seems to touch on it at least somewhat). so I recommend it! If anything it definitely got a lot of laughs out of me (and the little alien creatures are so cute oh my goddd)

“Mickey 17” has been on my list since before they dropped the first trailer. It‘s sort of like “Snowpiercer” in space, dripping with ethical conundrums and some not so subtle references to our current political moment. Definitely a movie worth seeing on the big screen—the pleasure for me is that it was a cathartic viewing through and through.

What a powerful film, I'm still recovering honestly, and it's been hours, I just can't get it out of my head, I can't sleep, so I'm writing this. I have never had a film make me so viscerally angry, I was enthralled, and the ending sequence with the real videos sent chills down my spine, I still shake just thinking about it. It's truly one of the best true rebellion films of our generation, and I'm shocked and saddened that it doesn't get more attention, because it certainly deserves it all. I'm going to be honest, this was my first Spike Lee film, and going into it, I didn't completely know what to expect, apart from some things I've seen online about it. I did not expect to laugh so hard, then be so moved to rebel against a society that puts people who are already low in the system lower, until they can't dig themselves out. If you haven't watched this movie, and you don't have anger issues or a sensitivity to discrimination, you should 110% check it out, because it is one of the best movies I have watched this year. Viva La Revolution against white supremacists, 10/10 Gone again.

I am a woman in STEM but I decided to take a class called sociology of gender and I really like that it makes me think more critically about both my experiences and the world outside of myself. also lowkey giving me more confidence because, you’re right, it’s not my fault‌

this is saya gray’s debut album and it just came out today!!! very fun, sort of experimental, lots of guitar and bass and layered vocals. I believe she writes and produces all of her songs so that’s also awesome. my top 3: - LIE DOWN.. - SHELL (OF A MAN) - ..THUS IS WHY (I DON’T SPRING 4 LOVE) random but if you‘ve watched daniel caesar’s tiny desk, she’s the bass player!
