taste the thing you randomly have never eaten

It’s not that I “don’t like” any foods, but there were a random bunch of things my parents just never fed me growing up OR that I for some reason just didn’t reach for out of habit. Over the past 6/7 years I deliberately have purchased and tried these things and they almost always hit!!! - artichoke hearts - black beans - maduros - salad foods (chicken salad, pasta salad, tuna salad etc.) - hearts of palm - coffee - cereal with milk (yes, for real, was not fed this growing up) There are so many more…but I recommend you buy one new random thing on your next grocery visit!

learning 2 love once-yucky foods

it’s a process but once u love them there’s more yumminess in the world i used 2 despise tomatoes (texture thing, blergh!!!!) but today i got a tomato stem tattoo because we’ve reached not only a truce, but an alliance the other night i ate some eggplant and enjoyed it……. the peace talks hav begun

having a signature vegetable

just really enjoy a vegetable and try making it in different ways. change your vegetable with the seasons, a signature doesn't have to be fixed. 🥬🫑🥕 i'm a nabo (turnip) but I'm enjoying tomatoes lately 🍅🫒 (and I love them with olive oil, so this tomato and olive are holding hands)

Growing up

maybe it’s just that i’m young enough that the novelty hasn’t worn off yet but i love becoming more of an adult every year. as a teenager i was so terrified of not being one anymore but i love being in my twenties so far. so much of it is hard and uncomfortable and there’s so much uncertainty and still! i wouldn’t go back ever ever ever. i have more perspective to weather the uncertainty better, i’m so much less insecure and preoccupied with how i come off to other people, and if i want to change my behavior or my life i have so much more freedom to do it! and i’ll only get more conscious and more interesting as i get older! how fucking cool. also as someone who really had to grow into my features it’s a nice bonus that i’ll probably get hotter and have better skin as i get older.
