guitar player and composer from amarillo, texas. some of the most beautiful music ive ever heard in my life. it's the perfect soundtrack to tour life, and the melodies/arrangements are truly breathtaking. my favorite tracks are "carthage" and "the happiest times i ever ignored." definitely check out his live album, it's remarkably recorded!!

Haven’t been able to stop playing it since it dropped! Spent my morning biking to this album and the winds made the sky look great and helped me be ~introspective~, truly couldnt have asked for a better ride.
The latter half works together so well and probably is my preferred section right now. love the sound of desert eagle the most and the blackbird cover has been on repeat but just everything is cool so.

i know people in the comments already said townes van zandt but i wanted recommend this live album in particular! so sweet hearing him talk in between songs and so sad hearing him sing straight from the heart :,)

heard this album for the first time yesterday and i was really blown away. really inspiring guitar work, evocative lyricism, and just a deep melancholic, longing atmosphere throughout the albums hour long runtime.
Peterson formally was the vocalist for Lift to Experience, a short lived post rock / shoegaze band from texas who released the high concept, biblically inspired album the Texas-Jerusalem crossroads in 2001. one of my favorite albums, and listening to his solo stuff really cemented him as one of my favorite songwriters. even if you typically don’t like the country-adjacent singer songwriter stuff i’d highly recommend checking this out.
