baking things you've never made before

it's become a weekly tradition of mine to bake something on wednesday evenings while my favorite d&d show is live, and its so fun to make new things and realize that they aren't that tough to make (most of the time)! i made biscotti for the first time ever yesterday and they weren't perfect, but they weren't nearly as tough to make as i imagined!

This was my quarantine baby. nothing makes me feel more accomplished than cutting into a fresh loaf. even the ugly ones taste delicious. the smile on people's face when you gift them a loaf is worth all the hassle :+)

Writing down recipes to make them easy to read + wearing an apron when you bake

I’m making banana muffins from Sally’s Baking Addiction (she is everything to me) and I always have to write recipes down like this because I have brain damage. This apron was my grandmother’s! She made it herself and the embroidery is obviously coming apart after probably like 60-70 years. It always makes me feel close to her because she loved baking 🥹🫶
