Here's a clip of a 64-year-old Buddy Rich playing at "Concert for the Americas" in 1982. He goes absolutely ham on the kit throughout his performances at the concert, but this song is particularly famous: the urban legend has it that he began suffering a heart attack while playing. People point to the moment about 6 minutes in when you can start to see him really exhausted. He leaves the stage pretty quickly after this and apparently was taken straight to hospital. It's confirmed that he was recovering from a heart attack in 1983, so who knows. It's a stunning performance either way. If you like this stuff I really recommend checking out the album "Just in Time: The Final Recording" – it was released a few years ago but was the final recording of a Buddy Rich concert at Ronnie Scott's in London. There's some great moments in it, like when he gets his daughter on stage to sing while he plays. An amazing performer.

Feels a bit redundant to recommend one of the most popular movies of all time, but for me this one had kind of stayed in the category "I'm sure it's good, I'll get to it some day". A friend put it on and I absolutely adored it – it wasn't just a great, scary horror movie – it covered a breadth of genres, was written really well, had great acting, and looked just wonderful.

Find a bunch of cool Public Domain or Creative Commons images (I just click "Random File" on Wikimedia Commons) and turn them into something you think looks like an album cover. It's fun to come up with a name for the band / album and imagine what their stuff would sound like! Maybe don't do this, actually. It's kind of a massive waste of time. I find it fun, though! As a bonus you can then make a chart of them and send it to your friends saying they're your favourite new releases. Waste their time as well :)
