ok this is not super helpful for your actual question but notion has never worked for me for note taking. eventually i stopped using it just because i feel like the structure does NOT work for good flowy note-taking, instead i just use it to vision board and plan projects
what i do love is obsidian - it uses links and backlinks to connect related concepts, and shows them all to you in a graph. it takes a little bit to get a hang of (about a week) but it's really powerful and completely local (all of your notes are saved as markdown files), which also means you can edit and view your notes offline but they're still really easy to share if you want them on your phone and computer. love love love it if you're taking notes online!
if you don't like obsidian i'm a big fan of remnote too! remnote saves to the cloud if you also want your notes to be on your other devices, but it lets you make quizlet flashcards/fill in the blank practice problems as you write and you can highlight/bold text using the same keyboard shortcuts as notion
ok i did not answer your question at all! hopefully someone has more helpful notion tips
