Remembering when I visited an old friend in Indiana last summer and they took me to this quarry, I was asleep on the ride there so I’ll never know where it is, it remains a mystifying memory. A moment suspended in time. Even as someone very afraid of both water and heights, being at the very top was so breathtaking (in a good way). Apparently the Empire State Building is constructed entirely with limestone from Indiana.

i worked here for a few years and often got emotional just entering it (dramatic i know!!), it is just such a marvel, truly emblematic of the city/iconic, visiting the top was always such an adventure, also my fav part was that there are these murals throughout the lobby (mainly the ceiling but also the reception desk wall and in the elevators) that feature gears in celestial formations it is extremely steampunk!!!!

Peach Pit’s sophomore album “You and Your Friends” is such a perfect album. No skips at all, all the songs are so catchy and beautiful. My favorite tracks on it have to be Puppy Grin, Brian’s Movie, and Shampoo Bottles. I feel like a lot of the songs on it are very nostalgic? It’s hard to explain, they’re all about past relationships, platonic and romantic (probably where the album name comes from). It’s very easy to attach songs to experiences you’ve lived. I think the song I’ve most resonated with is Puppy Grin, just the fact it’s about hopelessly devoting yourself to someone that’s not even yours to begin with. Very easy to listen to, hope to get the vinyl soon, can’t wait to see Peach Pit this summer!!

I love taking a good nature walk. Back in high school I had to wait upwards of 3 hours for my dad to come and pick me up (come late junior and senior year they told me to just take the bus home), I made it a bit of a habit of walking along the backyard of my school, it was this huge grassy space with trees and a river further back. Thinking of it now, it wasn’t very big, but man the self reflection I did there was crazy. Now I frequent downtown a lot because of school, so I just walk around getting lost, occasionally going to the parks nearby and just sitting and thinking.

Was thinking about the past and whatnot, reminiscing on senior year. It hasn’t even been a year since I graduated, yet it feels very far away already. It’s probably because I’ve settled into thinking of college and high school is not at the forefront of my mind anymore. It’s just crazy to think that I’m barely starting my spring semester of freshman year, when I had gotten so used to being a senior. Such is life, the cycle repeats. Picture is from senior sunrise, old tradition where the seniors go to the beach dressed in all white and watch the sun go up. Doesn’t have much use other than getting good pictures for the yearbook and Instagram lol, but was still a nice time. I think senior year was only tolerable because of my friends, I really owe it all to them. We got breakfast after and showed up an hour ish late to school, good times.
