I have taken showering in the comfort of my own home for granted. I started going to the gym recently and I find that the only way I can remain consistent is if I go first thing in the morning. Which means I go straight to work right after. Which means I have to shower in the locker room. Which means I only shower at home when I don’t go to work directly after the gym, so Saturday and Sunday. Surely, I could just “take another shower” if I wanted the comfort of my own shower so bad throughout the week. However, not only is that more effort and time wasted, but also, the wait until the weekend to treat myself to a home shower releases a sort of euphoric catharsis. Taking a dump naked and immediately hopping into the shower. The smell of EOS Pink Champagne body wash emanating through the steamy bathroom. Sky Ferreira shower curtain watching my bare butt as I brush my hair and perform my skin care routine. These are the sort of experiences you can only get twice a week.

I'm not gonna lie if i didn't have to shower i wouldn't. I'm a diehard once a week wash girly at most. I'm not stinky, my hair doesn't get oily enough throughout the week to warrant a wash, and I'm not active enough to get sweaty and gross during the week. but allegedly i have to shower more often which is like asking me to drive my car into a lake. i know it takes more initial effort but i have a few different soaps and shampoos that are all scented different and will mix and match my shower routine throughout the week (i recommend lush the soap is decently priced and lasts forever if you're not using it daily)

As soon as you get home from school, work, whatever. Take a shower and do your skin care. I fear I've just unlocked two days in one

shower thoughts

i like showering. i always have. it’s so comforting to stay stagnant while the world moves over you, hot water hitting your back. i zone out in the shower because i shower in the morning. i get sleepy. i like to listen to punk music in the shower to stay awake. i like to wash my hair. i like to stretch my fingers and crack my back on the side wall. i love to run the water through my hair, let it fall flat and slick. i like the way it makes my hair curl, my face warm. i like how the world fogs around me. i think about my girlfriend and coffee and work and i feel groggy, admittedly, but hopeful. morning showers are lovely
