What a powerful film, I'm still recovering honestly, and it's been hours, I just can't get it out of my head, I can't sleep, so I'm writing this.
I have never had a film make me so viscerally angry, I was enthralled, and the ending sequence with the real videos sent chills down my spine, I still shake just thinking about it. It's truly one of the best true rebellion films of our generation, and I'm shocked and saddened that it doesn't get more attention, because it certainly deserves it all.
I'm going to be honest, this was my first Spike Lee film, and going into it, I didn't completely know what to expect, apart from some things I've seen online about it. I did not expect to laugh so hard, then be so moved to rebel against a society that puts people who are already low in the system lower, until they can't dig themselves out.
If you haven't watched this movie, and you don't have anger issues or a sensitivity to discrimination, you should 110% check it out, because it is one of the best movies I have watched this year.
