Whatever that means to you. Read poetry, go for long walks, think of your life in movie scenes. If you want life to feel more special, *make* it feel more special.
Morning, evening and night.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You CAN so you SHOULD.
Everything you‘re doing, you should think to yourself “how can I romanticise this right now, and enjoy this moment just that little bit more”
Find happiness in the little things. Bask in the sun rise, take a moment to people watch grocery shopping or a cafe. Go on drives to nowhere in particular with your favorite playlist blasting. Read plays to a stuff animal audience and really dramatize the characters.
Aromatic tea brewing in the morning; dropping freshly cut tomatoes in your eggs; that new lavender shampoo in your hair; good music in your ear. It's the little things that make day-to-day living more enjoyable.
The controllable variables must be. So many aspects of our existence are held hostage by the fists of fate. But I'll be damned if I can't romanticize my life by sprinkling some joy in it. If it's a Françoise Hardy song here or a new playlist there, you must bring excitement into your life.
I’ve been talking about hanging up these things for nearly a year and yesterday I was struck with the realization that I can just DO it. So I did and it’s been making me so happy every time I walk in the room.
Just do the thing. Hang the photo, rearrange the furniture, paint the accent wall. You can always change it back (but you probably won’t even want to).
based on what you’ve been listening to id say check out Wishy, Momma, the new Horsegirl album (very kimya-esque) and Mannequin Pussy if you want a little extra edge
