i did a fencing camp once in middle school and got to stab at my brother with saber and i think it was very good for our sibling relationship tbh !
Yesss, the way I’ve always googled fencing classes for adults near me, but I haven’t been able to commit 😭 it’s limited and pricey
dueling in general is so much healthier for society than the arrangement we have now. if my honor is insulted, i want RECOURSE. and if i insult someone's honor, my opponent should have every right to try to strike me down (if he is superior [he won't be])
the way that I scroll past this literally as someone is messaging me about it. I do it at uni and it’s so much fun.
Just fully being in your zone, doing an old fashioned blade fight with an opponent, where there’s so many techniques to learn. It’s addicting to learn.
Equipment is expensive but you might find a club that has equipment to borrow.
Also unlike many sports, fencing is a sport that can last you for life. There’s elder championships, where usually slow moving elders become so agile and young under the mask.

Once you understand the main rules (foil = target is chest, priority gets point; epee = target is whole body, hit gets point; sabre = target is upper body, priority gets point) the competitions are so intense to watch too too. sniffle i watched the olympic ones!! i don’t remember which team it was but there was one that was so close it started a whole argument
