I am much more satisfied w myself when I do this every day. Sometimes when my awareness has been compressed into a pop tart sized lcd screen, going outside and looking at the tree canopies can feel like an acid trip. When I'm not making a practice out of it I feel like I've lost the way. poem by Nanao Sakaki: If you have time to chat, Read books. think about it, join me: maybe journal, maybe clean, maybe egg, maybe egg sandwich. perhaps guitar or favorite record or long shower. refill water whenever you need it. gaze up at a tree from underneath for too long or not long enough or maybe just the right amount of time to realize you have blanket and limitless afternoon and warmth of people you love, and you sit down and look at all of the moss and tiny mushrooms and patterns of the bark and exist within the smallness of yourself in the big wide universe.

it’s healing. no screen, no headphones, no book, no nothing. just you sitting doing nothing and being. maybe inside or maybe (ideally) outside. maybe in a chair. maybe lying down. looking around and observing. maybe 5 minutes or maybe an hour.

My biggest thing when being in a funk is feeling stuck somewhere, so I force myself to put on some clothes and put myself somewhere new so my mind can follow. @devisthatgirl already covered going on a walk, you could also: - go on a random drive and listen to music/podcasts - go to a craft store - go to a free museum - or literally just find somewhere quiet outside the house - I recommend no scrolling and just sit, smell, listen, look closely at the things around you. I've been there many times - you can do this!! <3

Usually i’m not a big fan of peanut butter snacks (esp dessert foods) but this is good. The ratio and construction ensures that the peanut butter adds just enough sweetness and complexity without sacrificing texture
