these tabs are always open on my laptop!!! ive recently entered into the world of perfume, which is so cool that you can basically just smell like anything. mondays i smell like lemons. wednesdays are mint and basil. fragrantica is basically just a catalog of almost every perfume and shows reviews, pros and cons, online listings, all the notes. you can sort perfumes by scents too and find similar perfumes to ones you already know. even if im not buying anything i just like to look at the pictures. i do have a shopping addiction that i inherited from my mother which im trying to break, but her one rule was that she would always buy me a book if i asked for it. plus buying secondhand is so much cheaper and cooler!!! on thrift books, you can sort through all the copies they have a certain book, basically you can pick out what cover speaks to you the most. and most stuff is very cheap, you can also sort by condition, i love a good beat up book. the creative independent is a blog? (i guess in a sense) that interviews creative people almost daily and categorizes the interviews into different areas of the creative process; i.e., “making time for creative work”, ”developing a creative process”, “running a business”, and ”becoming an artist”. they talk to some big names along with niche guys, i’ve discovered a lot of cool art and such through the interviewees. i love the nicole mclaughlin interview are.na is basically pinterest but aimed towards design students, which im not, but i do enjoy the structure of it more over pinterest, you do only get a certain number of ”blocks” (pins) before having to pay a subscription, i do believe students get it for free tho!

one day i was on the work computer and i wanted to find more Fruits Magazines and came across dozens of pdfs on are.na!!! it's catered towards design and architecture students it's the loveliest tool as a casual internet user. it's self financed with premiums (no ads) plus it's minimalistic and easy to use - it organizes pictures, websites, and pdfs into these sections called channels. there is no algorithm it's purely based on hunter and gatherer vibes i started using it recently and have found countless channels of historical zines, 90s/2000s perfume ads, bare bone websites built with just html, old blogs, and so much more. i think perfectly imperfect and are.na are proof that the internet is well and alive! just attached one of the channels i follow it's a collection of vintage Japanese advertisements and graphics :*)

If you love hunting & gathering online then this is the spot. kind of a mix between tumblr + pinterest. I'm obsessed feels very artist/design focused but I think any creative person would enjoy it. you get a certain amount of use for free – but I pay for it and it's worth every penny to me!! i found a student discount code too! use "CURIOUS" for 50% off

i find myself lacking creativity lately; i thoroughly blame college for it which i feel like should enhance it but apparently not. so lately i’ve been looking for some sort of guidance and also interesting articles to read on my commute to uni instead of mindlessly doomscrolling (which i also love doing). there are so many categories to choose from like zines and essays along with a collection of tips and guides which i find quite useful and entertaining! i absolutely love this site! its my little corner of the internet that actually helps me too and exposes me to so many things.
