not just because orange is my fav color and the word monarch makes a good pun with my last name (hence my username on pretty much everything), but also I feel like I vibe with the themes of always being in process. being in a state of transformation from a larval state to a fullest, truest state of maturity. taking on a migration in search of greener pastures. fumbling around and making some mistakes along the way because my wings are actually pretty jank but it’s the only way i’m able to fly on to where I’m headed.
also in looking this up I realized that the migration patterns of the northbound 1st and 2nd generation monarchs in the picture below literally trace the line of all the places I’ve lived in the US (DC, Dallas, New York, Nashville). might have just found my spirit animal ngl.

Not that impressive of a photo, but these things are quick. I like it bc it reminds me of a nice trip I went on. They are like a mix of a hummingbird a bee and a moth.
