Incredibly well researched deep dive into hip hop history and DOOM’s unmatched place in it. I remember when DOOM passed I couldn’t help but feel like a friend had died, despite him being notoriously private, and this book calls that feeling out by name within the first few pages.
It’s a respectful and insanely addictive read
There was yacht rock, indie, hip hop, alt-country and even some 70s coffee shop folk on my list this year (was I sad? Nostalgic? prepping for a podcast?) but the Supervillain clearly dominated my listening patterns in ‘24
I can’t believe it’s a debut and not a single song is a skip. They‘re referenced several times in the MF DOOM biography and it‘s funny how much the “your favorite artist’s favorite artist” rings true for them
One of my favourite albums from one of my favourite bands of all time. I will never get tired of this album, especially with all of the lore(comics, music videos)

Idc there’s something so chic about my car that costed me 2k and is paid off and so gently used by its previous owners. Having a CD binder in the car makes me feel like my mom. 10/10 overall.
