Bonus points if you didn't even do anything wrong, it's just because of the circumstances of the relationship (long-distance) and your partner not being able to handle it anymore (they say it hurts too much when you're away)

nothing hurts worse than getting dumped. Especially when it’s over a 3 minute phone call and youre getting dumped by someone who cheated on you and they’re leaving you for the person they cheated with. There’s no way to get through it quickly. you don’t get to skip steps or speedrun it.

Underrated because this teaches you that sometimes relationships won’t work for reasons that have nothing to do with you. Keep it moving

maybe they’re a partner, maybe they’re a friend, maybe they’re a family member. regardless of the type of relationship, you know that this person isn’t good for you. it doesn’t even have to be because they’re abusive — maybe there’s just something about this connection that brings you stress. maybe your body is trying to tell you. why does your stomach hurt before and after you see them? you know you need to let this person go, but there’s a part of you who doesn’t want to. you’ve gotten used to them being in your life, and you can’t imagine a life without them. you want to only remember the good moments. you want to believe that things will be *all good* again. but were they ever *all good*? this person is never going to be the idealized version you’ve created in your head. ending the connection will hurt, but you’re already hurting yourself by staying in it.

If you've read any Philip K. Dick you might have heard of his book VALIS, in which he explores a life-altering religious experience he had using a character modeled after part of himself. This album is like the disorienting, biblically-accurate-angel, overwhelming sonic equivalent of that. The riffs are constantly shifting but at times almost in a way where it's like they're taken apart and then the bits that are added as flourish or an "unfolding" ends up shifting into a different riff, but there's also lots of callbacks to the forms and structures of different motifs throughout. This album has been continually mind-fucking me in the best way possible for the past 2 weeks. Definitely not for everyone, but if it's up your alley, it's up your alley.

When you see their light grey outline from bright moonlight with some stars peeking through...just feels so mystic. Like I feel a visceral connection to the people back in the day who would quest through open plains between the forests at night
