gut punch to the stomach and sword to the chest. a wonderful heart wrenching movie everyone should watch at least once.

Kind of a lie cause I did rewatch it once (when I was sick for some reason) and I cried so hard I couldnāt breathe. Beautiful movie, donāt regret seeing it and i probably will watch it again someday, when I have someone else to subject to the torture, but I think that day is far into my future. Itās one of studio Ghibliās best movies but its hard bringing yourself to watch something you know is so painful to see.When I watch it the moment I start crying I donāt stop till after itās over.

from gut wrenching to a light tug:
mustang (2015)- made me cry twice in one watch. (disclaimer: a lot of turkish people have mixed feelings abt how this movie represents turkish culture so watch with a grain of salt but also remember misogyny does in fact exist everywhere)
la chimera (2023)- there is a looming melancholy throughout the whole film but the last 30 minutes really did a number on me
thelma & louise (1991)- gut wrenching in a beautiful female friendship kinda way
lars and the real girl (2007)- the premise looks silly on paper and tbh it is but it still made me cry in the end nonetheless (maybe iām just a dweeb)
haru (1996)- early internet bonds. also more on the lighthearted side of things but tugs at the heart.

This one almost got ya boy crying man. Beautiful film thatās really hard to explain but just know that itāll have you thinking āman what the hell going onā then a few mins later youāre like ānah these kids aināt shitā and finally youāre on the verge of tears praying the little homies get a happy ending. Beautiful film, will definitely watching again, just get them tissues ready man.
