Reflections of sombre thoughts,
unfriendly – yet, familiar – caught;
Rising with these marmalade skies:
a past affair, but no surprise.
Along with the wind, came a whisper,
gloomy and hazy, but growing clearer;
trickling outwards from within,
losing warmth from this mortal's skin.
As tangerine hues bleed indigo,
a pattern of thoughts slowly unfold;
Unfortunately it is one too accustomed,
for far too long and unwelcomed.
What does it take to refuse you?
Clouded with these thoughts untrue.
What does it take to keep you away?
These darkened skies have led me astray.

i toss and i turn with the pillow staying put,
welcoming a new wave of anxiety with each movement
2:18 on the clock and the fan adds more momentum to my unattainable thoughts
buried in the need to see, and learn the unknown
yet, i lay on the surface as a parched rock in the middle of my favorite beach,
reeking of the current simplicities of life
though its surely a blessing in disguise which i might recall five years from now
standing by, holding onto my innocence, waiting to believe in a miracle or see a comet pass by in the dark night sky

i don't want to be lonely
it's not midnight anymore
it hits when i'm high over the ocean
one eye open
the other lost to the black depths
nights like these, it feels like i'll never wake up
won't be returning to the shore
everything i want refuses to come within six metres of me
even when neither of us are real

There exists a gap between the will to power and the will to action. Failure isn’t the end of the road, it’s crossroads for new beginnings. Setbacks are inevitable but salvation is a choice, one that requires great strength. We are all vulnerable to human vices, it’s the caveat you accept before your ascension into a new start, but what matters is the dedication for the resolve; the deterrents are endless and discomfort is normalcy however what remains solid is self-faith.
