im getting my first tat in two weeks and its defo not gonna be my last, but i really thought it through with its meaning and im getting a water lily and in the future defo more stuff with meaning but like i also wanna get stupid tats of things i just find pretty or cool or like related to my hobbies but everyones like oh youll regret it in the future blablabla, was wondering about what people outside of my irls think pls lmk

My body is temple, meaning i get to decorate it how i please! I do have a few in mind with meaning, though nothing super personal- one to remember a trip, a few to represent my name, but also, i kinda just want gargoyles on my shoulders cuz I think it’d look cool, and that’s what having a body is about to me

I have 50+ tats and most of them dont have concrete meanings, but are pieces I got from artists I admire and respect! They remind me of specific moments in my life and are generally a reminder that my body is temporary. Even the tattoos that are specific to something that I feel less strongly about with age (I have a SZA “CTRL” tattoo) make me smile because our tastes and interests will always be shifting - which is beautiful!

i think i have 9 at this point? honestly babe you only get one body during your time on earth so you might as well do what you want with it. have a favorite band? get a symbol of them put on your body forever. a favorite painting? steal that shit and put it on your arm. none of mine have very deep meaning but that’s okay because i like them. i just think they look neat! that’s how you decide, just take up all the space on your skin with shit you think looks cool. the pain depends on the part of the body; i think my most painful was my thigh and my least painful was probably the back of my calf. also color tats hurt a bit more than black so be conscious of that. and i would definitely get another. they’re absolutely addicting.

prospective decision:tattoo

When thinking about tattoos, it is difficult to decide what I want since they all look cool and my style changes so often and everything is so cool and awesome. I’ve thought of a possible solution, which is: get tattoos based on my history and things that have shaped me as a person. Since history is in the past, it never changes, and I have to accept it whether it’s ink on my body or not. I’m taking inspiration from Polynesian culture here.
