best ds game ever, makes beautiful use of the hardware. its a visual novel with a brilliant plot and the soundtrack is sooo nostalgic and lovely. 11/10 for me, biannual replays at the very least. check it out if you’re into escape rooms and morphogenetic fields 😑 pretty sure its available on PS as well if thats your thing!

An escape room/visual novel game that kept me hooked from the beginning to the end. I finished it weeks ago and I still can’t stop thinking about it. Don’t get the ported ps4/steam version it’s not as good :)

if you like video games, chances are you already know about this one. if you aren't that into any games, but you like a good story and even better characters - drop everything i don't care, you have to play this. honestly it feels more like a visual novel because it's the writing and dialogue more than the gameplay that makes this thing great. it's set in a small, deteriorating american town, and you play as mae, who has just dropped out of college and returned home to live with her parents and see her old friends. shit has truly heartbreaking moments and lines that will stick with me forever. themes-wise, we're talking growing up, family and friendship, the impact of urbanisation, community, derealisation, capitalism, nostalgia, all that good stuff. plus theres a halloween bit i know you fuckers love halloween. i keep coming back to it and every time it has something new for me. MASSIVE recommendation especially if you're in your 20s. also the soundtrack is gorgeous and there are rhythm minigames (PLAY THAT BASS!!)

THE COSMIC WHEEL SISTERHOOD!!!! - I’ve rec’d it before cause it’s so good, if you love a good story this is defo for you. Its so so gorgeous (pic below is from it). You’re a witch who’s been in exile for centuries, who summons a demon to help. Choose your own adventure style story game with elements of collage (you make your own oracle cards). Night in the woods - a weird lil walking sim story game that feels like a graphic novel. Existential and dark and mysterious. Wylde Flowers - a cosy witchy farming and story game. i find pure farming/management sims a bit boring but this has a linear storyline which kept me entertained. Spiritfarer - such a moving game unlike anything else I’ve played since. You play as a psychopomp ferrying souls into the afterlife and carrying out their final wishes. Also if you wanted to get into more RPGs, I just finished Sea of Stars. It’s an adventure RPG with gorgeous pixel art. It’s made to have the nostalgia of old 90s RPGs, but you’d definitely be able to appreciate it without having played them. It has combat, but it’s turn based which might be easier for someone who isn’t as good at combat, and there’s relics you pick up that you can activate to make the fighting easier. Turn based combat in general is probably the way to go if you wanna move into fighting games!

when my best friend and i sit about and chat for hours we often engage in timed bouts of drawing people as honestly as we can and we love it so much. TIP —> draw said people from memory for even better results here she highlights khabib nurmagomedov’s austere side while my drawing fails to capture his brow bone as well as id have liked :(
