Technically I'm not into this just yet, but my friend Morgan is influencing me to stay off my phone and let myself get bored. In her boredom experience, she's been making art out of office supplies, like Spencer from iCarly. Today she made a giant squidward head with masking tape, and a dog statuette out of a screw and some tacks. Yesterday she made a large pair of boobs out of leftover streamers from an event. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I just made some photo cards for my friend's birthday, and why is it one of the most fun things I've done in like forever?? I printed the images, put stickers all over them, & laminated them with sheets from Office Depot. I'm always wanting to do something creative with my hands in my free time, but painting & drawing can be really frustrating if it doesn't turn out how I envision it, so this was a nice change. Totally stress-free little crafting activity. Plus it made me laugh really hard to laminate Gerard Way. And to bedazzle the Narrator from Fight Club. I wanna do this for everyone I know now. It was actually so easy & fun!

Make a mood board or a vision board using magazines or printed photos. You can also use stickers and random found paper objects! Itβs a really nice way to be creative without the pressure of making something with an expectation in mind. Go wherever it takes you <3

I'm not really good at any visual art forms, but I made a pretty big collage for my friend's birthday, and it was just fun following my instincts on what to put together, seeing where I could place an inside joke, and just telling a story in a way I usually wouldn't.
Hours went by before I even realized how long I'd been working on it. I just listened to music, cut up magazines, rubbed glue into my hands, fucked around with a bunch of markers, and it was pretty chill. I'd recommend anyone who struggles with visual art to give it a try, you might surprise yourself, but you also might just have fun, which is worth it to me. It's making me consider learning how to do it digitally.

consistently I will ask my friend Jack things that I should be googling, like "if i made a giant batch of chai latte and kept it in the fridge, would it separate?" he said yes, don't do that. I failed to ask if i could just shake it up and it would be fine. i'm gonna text him right now about it i think.

I saw this written in a bathroom stall in Austin TX. I really liked it, so I re-wrote it in a bathroom in Portland ME the other day. I'll probably re-write it somewhere else soon too.

if my alarm goes off at 8:15, i'm setting a 5 minute timer to do whatever i want in bed. phone or sleep or cry or anything. but once the timer goes off at 8:20, its go time
